Re-purposing an existing building to create both flexible and supportive environments
Location: Capalaba, QLD
Capacity: Office space – 16 seat, Training Room 30 seat
Time Frame: 1 Month
Project Team: Len Powe
The site at Capalaba required BoysTown to re-purpose an existing building directly adjacent to the current BoysTown Capalaba Office. The office space is both flexible and supportive to the user, meeting budgets and strict time constraints whilst offering variety from the other BoysTown tenancies throughout Australia.
Working within the standard BoysTown fit out requirements and the constraints of budget and time, the dynamic Training and Meeting spaces fulfils BoysTown’s requirement for self sufficient spaces that facilitate formal meetings and collaborative training activities. The spaces, essentially categorised in three areas are all designed around a central core each able to access the amenities, waiting area and main entrance whilst remaining lockable enabling potential for future subletting or after hours use. Capalaba Regional Managers Office, distinguishing itself from other BoysTown offices, incorporated workstations into a ‘Hot Seat’ formation encouraging collaboration whilst offering a flexible and functional working environment. The black, white and grey scheme continued throughout the office provided BoysTown with a ‘canvas’ like feel lending itself to future company branding possibilities. Craig Dickson and his team at Intrec were key members in ensuring the success of this project through their willingness to become a proactive part of the project team.
